Statement on Nomination of Gov. Doug Burgum as Trump Administration DOI Secretary
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Organization for Competitive Markets, and Competitive Markets Action, released the following statement in response to President Donald J. Trump's nomination of North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as U.S. Secretary of the Dept. of Interior (DOI):
"We congratulate Governor Burgum on his nomination as U.S. Secretary of the Interior and hope he will address the many concerns farmers and ranchers have regarding the use of federal lands, and specifically the corruption within the Bureau of Land Management," said Marty Irby, president at Competitive Markets Action and secretary at the Organization for Competitive Markets. "DOI needs a major overhaul and Burgum should take an axe and chop five layers deep to eradicate the bureaucrats at DOI and BLM. Time and time again, we have witnessed the Deep State grind things to a screeching halt at DOI and impede progress at every turn. We expect Trump's new Golden Age is on the horizon and it starts here."
